Duncombe Sawmill is an award-winning sawmill known for its craftsmanship and expertise. We are currently looking for an Executive to join our Customer Service Department. This is a very important role and will suit an outgoing and self-motivated individual who thrives on providing excellent customer service in a busy environment.

You will play a key role in driving the growth of the business by helping to manage a portfolio of existing customers whilst also developing new ones as we launch a new side of the business.

A pro-active and efficient individual who is able to work under pressure, you will drive sales through your product knowledge and ability to effectively optimize sales enquiries. You will monitor your customers’ sales on a regular basis, keeping all customer information up to date in a CRM. You will also be responsible for managing stock within the business and for organising logistics to enable an efficient customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Dealing with customer on email, telephone and in the office
  • Preparing quotes for retail and trade and following up by telephone and email
  • Identifying and following up on business development/growth opportunities
  • Processing orders and taking payments
  • Arranging of site visits
  • Managing stock takes, allocating and ordering stock
  • Coordinating local and national deliveries
  • Organising vehicle and machinery maintenance
  • Supplier liaison
  • Maintenance of display areas

  • Able to work under pressure and remain calm
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise work
  • Be highly organized and detail focused
  • Strong communication skills, written, verbal and an excellent telephone manner
  • Financially and commercially aware
  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to understand a customer’s requirements through effective communication
  • Experience of working in sales would be a distinct advantage
  • Confident user of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Xero an advantage.
