Make an appointment with the Yorkshire Vet

Book signing with Julian Norton to take place in Helmsley on 16th September

The Yorkshire Vet – Julian Norton – will be in Helmsley on Saturday 16th September for an exclusive book signing.

Taking place at Claridges book shop, based on Helmsley’s Church Street, the star of Channel Five’s hit TV show will be signing copies of his new hardback book ‘A Yorkshire Vet – Through the Seasons’.

Julian will be available to meet fans from 1pm to 3pm – bleeper permitting, as life as a vet means you’re always on call!

The Yorkshire Vet is based in the Skeldale Veterinary Centre, the inspiration for the much-loved novel and BBC series All Creatures Great And Small. The fly-on-the-wall documentary follows Julian and fellow vet Peter Wright as they go about their daily routine. The first programme launched in 2015, and proved so popular that there have now been four series of the show.

Claridges has been based in Helmsley for more than 50 years, and as well as selling toys, greeting cards and stationery, it specialises in books written about the local area, or from local authors.

Ken Claridge, who owns Claridges, said: “We’re really looking forward to having Julian in the store again. We had such a successful event last year signing his first book ‘Horses, Heifers and Hairy Pigs’ and Julian proved very popular with locals and visitors alike. His new book is a fantastic read, and we’re sure people will be keen to come and get a personalised copy. It would make a great Christmas gift to put away for someone!”

Anyone unable to make the event who would like a signed copy can order one by calling 01439 770401.
