Helmsley gallery hopes to ‘draw’ in the crowds for fourth anniversary celebrations

An art gallery in Helmsley will be celebrating its fourth anniversary with a special in store event.

Taking place on Sunday 14th July, from 10am to 4pm, Lazenby Visuals will have two local artists in residence working on new pieces. The gallery will also be offering discounts on a range of artwork, as well as discounts on framing for items bought on the day.

Eleanor Tomlinson, from Willerby in East Yorkshire, will be working on her watercolour sketches of animals and country scenes within the gallery, which is based in the Helmsley Walled Garden Craft Units. Kayleigh Gray, who lives near Malton, will also be based there for the day, drawing the monochrome birds and wildlife she’s known for.

In addition to having work on display from regularly featured artists, there will be items from new guest artists across a wide range of genres. Over the last year the gallery has been working on its range of automotive art, with car images from five artists, in a variety of styles, currently on display.

Chris Lazenby, owner of Lazenby Visuals, said: “I’m delighted we’re celebrating our fourth anniversary here in the beautiful town of Helmsley. We’ve built up a good base of regular customers as well as those passing by along the Cleveland Way or on their way to Helmsley Walled Garden. We’ve been working hard over the last few weeks to refresh and update what we have in the gallery, so there will be lots of new things to see for even our most regular customers. It’s fantastic to have Eleanor and Kayleigh working in the space for the day – it’s fascinating to see an artist at work, and they are always happy to talk to visitors about what they’re doing.”
