Royally Celebrate Yorkshire’s Most Glamorous Christmas Fair with the BBC’s King Louis XIV

George Blagden, star of the BBC drama series Versailles, is to be the special guest at a preview night of Yorkshire’s most glamorous Christmas Fair.

Duncombe Park Christmas Fair, which has supported children’s charity the NSPCC for the past 20 years, will return this year with a VIP preview night with Champagne and canapes on Thursday, November 16 followed by two days of glamour, gifts and festive spirit.

Tickets are now on sale for the Champagne Reception which offers not only a chance to mingle with George Blagden, who has a legion of fans from his time as Athelstan in Vikings, but to grab those quirky and locally produced high quality Christmas gifts for your loved ones. There will be over 70 carefully handpicked stalls offering gifts from toys to books, jewellery, fashion, art, homeware and food and drink.

George Blagden said he was delighted to accept the invitation from the NSPCC: “I am really looking forward to attending this special event which I know is a highlight of the local social calendar. It is amazing to me that such a social and enjoyable occasion can make such a difference to children who face abuse and neglect.”

Last year’s charity fair raised £56,423 to help vulnerable children in Yorkshire and across the UK.

Karen Storey, co-chair of the NSPCC Duncombe Park Committee, says: “We’ve raised more than £500,000 over the two decades we’ve been organising the fair, and it has really gone from strength to strength.

“We are so very grateful to Jake and Raffaella Duncombe for allowing us to use their home to host the event again. Without the generosity of our sponsors and our hosts, as well as our wonderful stallholders and visitors, we would never have been able to make the fair such a story of success, and help so many children and young people.”
