Welcome the weekend with Fizz Friday at Thomas of Helmsley

Gin and prosecco tasting event to be held on Friday 24th November from 6.30pm

Thomas of Helmsley will be holding a ‘Festive Fizz’ tasting event on Friday 24th November to help shoppers bring some sparkle to the season.

Running from 6.30pm to 8pm, samples of prosecco, gin and mixers, some of which are exclusive to Thomas of Helmsley in the local area, will be available to try, along with Thomas the Baker’s award-winning sweet mince pies and a selection of cheese and crackers.

Products to sample will include the Whitley Neil Rhubarb and Ginger gin and its elderflower variety, along with Sanction Gin, in its eye-catching black bottle, which includes botanicals from around the world. Lamb & Watts premium mixers will also be available, including hibiscus or basil tonic water.

Thomas of Helmsley will also be popping the cork on bottles of prosecco, including the fresh and fruity Simpatico Gold and Pink, with bottles beautiful enough to adorn any dining table, as well as making them a welcome Christmas gift.

John Thomas, founder of Thomas of Helmsley, said: “Gin has enjoyed a major resurgence over the last few years – in fact, sales of gin surpassed £1billion last year. Similarly, prosecco sales have doubled over the last three to four years. It seems we can’t get enough fizz! That means, of course, that there is more variety out there, and it can be hard for people to know what they or their family and friends may enjoy. We thought a tasting event would give people the opportunity to try out some different types along with some drinks which are exclusive to us in the local area. So, we hope people will come along and put themselves in the hands of our experts, who can help them find a tipple which is made for them!”

Thomas of Helmsley is part of the Thomas the Baker group, a family run business established in 1981 which now has a chain of 30 bake shops across Yorkshire. For more information go to www.thomasthebaker.co.uk
