Lord Digby Jones comes to Helmsley to set about ‘Fixing Business’

Advocate for business and former Minister to speak on 13th October at Duncombe Park

Former Minister, businessman and well-respected advocate for business Lord Digby Jones will be hosting an event in Helmsley on 13th October.

Taking place at 7pm, Friday 13th October at Duncombe Park, the event will see Lord Digby talk about his life and his new book ‘Fixing Business: Making Profitable Business Work for the Good of All’. The book looks at why profit isn’t a dirty word but an important part of socially inclusive wealth creation to improve every aspect of society. As well as offering advice to businesses of all sizes, the book considers how to deal with a post-Brexit world.

Lord Digby Jones is a crossbench peer in the UK House of Lords and a former Minister of State for UK Trade & Investment. He was, and is still, the only Minister never to have joined the party of Government and is often heard to say “Business is my Constituency”.

A former corporate lawyer and Director General of the Confederation of British Industry, he speaks around the world on all aspects of business, including the wider political and societal scene. Amongst his current roles in business, he is chairman of Triumph Motorcycles. He is also a previous winner of BBC TV Celebrity Mastermind on the subject of Kings and Queens of England.

Tickets will include a signed copy of his second book, Fixing Business, which was published in May this year, along with wine and canapes. All the proceeds will go towards renovations of the church in Old Byland.

Tickets cost £20 and must be purchased in advance. They are available via eventbrite and also by phone – speak to Mal on 07917 127584.
