Extended crafty Christmas shopping event

Helmsley Walled Garden and craft workshops are to open for a special extended shopping event on Friday 25th November from 2pm to 6pm. You will also be able to taste and buy some of our own apple juices from our orchard here at the garden.

Visitors will be able to enjoy an afternoon of Christmas shopping and festive celebrations.

As well as providing the perfect opportunity for a spot of shopping, the independent businesses based around the Walled Garden will also be putting on special activities for the evening. Keith Pickering, the famous ‘Stick Man’ who has produced items for the big screen, such as the magic stick used by Nanny McPhee in the much-loved film, will be doing a stick making demonstration. David Tomlinson from the Helmsley Natural Health Clinic will be talking to people about the Emmett Technique and Bowen Therapy. There will be homemade fruit cake and gingerbread samples at Celebrate Country Cake Design. The Walled Garden shop will be open for wreaths and Christmas gifts – as well as sampling mulled wine. Lazenby Visuals will be running special offers, framing demonstrations, and hopefully there will be a local artist or two in the studio painting.

The walkway from the Cleveland Way car park will be lit with lights, and there will also be  festive music.

Chris Lazenby, from Lazenby Visuals, said: “The businesses in Helmsley are so supportive of each other and we really wanted to do something together to encourage visitors to come and see what the craft units and Walled Garden have to offer. It’s such a beautiful place to be based, and will look magical with the Christmas lights and decorations. We look forward to welcoming lots of visitors on 25th, with the intoxicating scents of gingerbread and mulled wine and the promise of an entertaining afternoon!”

Alongside, this year Helmsley Walled Garden and Craft Workshops have invited Annika Dowson who is raising money for IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Services) to take bookings  for an array of Craft stalls which will be situated in the craft workshop car park.
